Through my journey with ICH, I hope to see how grassroots civil society can drive real, lasting, and
transformative progress toward a more sustainable, compassionate, and peaceful world. Change
becomes possible when the right people come together – and this is what ICH is all about.

Who is Jonathan
Jonathan is a policy professional and international affairs practitioner committed to building bridges and connnections. His academic journey spanning Sciences Po Paris, the London School of Economics, and Fudan University, has been complemented by experience at the Austrian Foreign Ministry, the European External Action Service, the United Nations, and the European Parliament.
Now serving at the Europe-Asia Center, he focuses on fostering mutual understanding between continents through environmental cooperation, cultural dialogue, and people-to-people exchange. In an era marked by deepening geopolitical divides, he views dialogue and solidarity as essential tools for advancing peace and achieving shared global goals.
Drawing on Gramsci’s idea of the “time of monsters,” he believes that only compassion can overcome fear and only through solidarity can we realise the UN Sustainable Development Goals. In his mother tongue German, “Ich” means “I,” but here, ICH stands for all of us, working together for a better tomorrow.
